I’m a musician and sound recordist from Queanbeyan in NSW, Australia. This site is a home for some of the random or extraneous recordings I’ve made over the years.
At school I dove eagerly into music, and went on to play with lots of different groups. I studied production at Canberra Institute of Technology, and worked at a local television station as sound technician and recordist on commercials, short films, documentaries and tv shows. I’ve also studied composition at ANU Community Music Centre, and have written music for short films and television series.

Here’s a quick and nasty recording of Prism Jazz Ensemble performing Aint No Mountain High Enough at the Canberra Yacht Club’s ‘Float Your Boat’ event in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the completion of Lake Burley Griffin.
We played right on the water’s edge where a genuine paddle steamer was docking. Check out the steam whistle solo… Im playing the guitar

My rendition of There Are Worse Things I Could Do from the musical ‘Grease’…. I’d just bought a Telecaster guitar and couldn’t resist plucking out one of my favourite country rock ballads. My version has a tenor sax lead.
Telecaster into an Ampero mini, Fender Jaguar bass into Guitar Rig. The drums, keys, winds and strings are all software plugins

More Steam! This is a field recording of 5917 steam locomotive captured at speed near Bungendore. The ‘Picnic Train’ is a heritage tourism event which trundles between Canberra and Bungendore at Easter time each year. The loco is 71 years old…

A snippet from the short film Shed, written and directed by Kathryn Goldie (2005). This was my first attempt at scoring. I wrote and recorded all the music for the film.

Along the Way was omitted from Lelait’s ‘Dead Loved Ones’ EP, but I think it’s a great song. Recorded at Big Jesus Burger studios in Sydney in 2003. I’m playing the guitar.
